Brendan J. Murphy
Brendan J. Murphy is a Managing Director with Teneo Restructuring. He has executed over 45 distressed transactions throughout all phases of financial restructurings and has represented clients within all levels of the capital structure (Debtor, Creditor, Equity Holder), both in- and out-of-court. He is highly-experienced in corporation and asset appraisal including: debt restructuring, extensive valuation, capital refinancing, and liquidation analysis. He also has extensive experience with Chapter 11 transactions, including: plan development and creditor negotiations, business plan / capital structure assessment, distressed M&A (via §363 sales), capital raising (DIP / exit financing), and operational turnarounds (cash flow / liquidity management).
Prior to joining Teneo, Mr. Murphy was a Director in the Global Restructuring Advisory Group of Duff & Phelps Securities, LLC, having joined the firm in 2004. Mr. Murphy joined Duff & Phelps with the merger of Chanin Capital Partners in October 2006.
Prior to joining Chanin Capital Partners in 2004, Mr. Murphy worked as a Senior Associate in the Corporate Value Consulting Practice of Standard & Poor’s in Houston, Texas. He assisted clients with merger & acquisition advisory and valuation analyses related to bankruptcy / fresh-start accounting, financial reporting, government regulatory, litigation and tax purposes.
Mr. Murphy received his M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, with a concentration in International Accounting and Finance. While attending, he was awarded a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship. He also received his B.S. in Economics and minor in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
